Born in Muscatine in 1869, George Judisch became a registered pharmacist in 1889. In July 1894, Judisch purchased the Westerman Drug Store located at 209 Main Street. Judisch also had strong connections to the college, teaching pharmacy and materia medica in the veterinary school. He was very active in his profession and the community. He was a board member of the Ames Commercial Club, Ames Public Library, Union National Bank, and Mary Greeley Hospital. He served as a committee member of the Ames Rotary Club and Ames Chamber of Commerce Agricultural Committee. He was appointed to the City Board of Censors. He was also a member of the Congregational Church, Masonic Lodge, and Order of the Eastern Star. He sponsored a scholarship at Iowa State, which continued after his death. Judisch was also involved in politics. He was active in the Republican Party, often serving as a Story County delegate to the state convention. He regularly sponsored a trip for high school students to visit the state legislature and county courthouse.

Judisch’s wife, Lillian, was also extremely active in the community. She was the choir director at the Congregational Church and member of the Faculty Women’s Club, Ames Woman’s Club, PEO, Eastern Star, and Ames Garden Club. She was well known for her vocal performances, including those at the dedications of Mary Greeley Hospital and the Ames Public Library. 
 
In January 1956, Judisch’s drug store closed after 61 years of business. He passed away in 1959.
