Roosevelt School (1923 to 2005) and named for Theodore Roosevelt is located on 9th St. and Roosevelt Ave. Neighbors and others fought hard to keep this school open but in the end it was sold to a developer who is turning it into condos with the agreement to preserve the historic facade.
