Kate Mitchell Elemenatry (1970 to the present) Named for Kate Mitchell, an Ames native, who taught in the Ames primary grades for 29 years then served 12 years ad principal at Lincoln School. This school is located at the end of Jewel Drive to the west side of the road just south of Garnet Drive.
