This photo from January 29, 1958 shows workmen pulling the forms off the newly constructed piers in preparation for the widening of Squaw Creek bridge on Lincoln Way. The piers and abutments were widened and the new bridge built on the extended support structure. John Carpenter, City Manager, said traffic was halted only about six hours during the whole operation. The bridge was widened by Jensen Construction Co., Des Moines, in conjunction with the widening of Lincoln Way from Riverside Drive to Beech Avenue. The Riverside Standard Oil Service Station is center left.
