Germany: A Celebration of Food and Music

An afternoon of German brass music, treats, and history. Dr. Pamela Riney-Kehrberg from the Iowa State University Department of History will share with us the story of German immigrant farmers with her brief talk, “Culture and Agriculture: German Farmers in Rural Iowa. And Margie Junkan from Cook’s Emporium will share with us some of the foods they brought to our state. Live German waltzes and polkas will be performed by Second Chair Brass. Come learn about the ways that many Iowans’ German ancestors helped make the state.
