- City’s first dog licensing ordinance passed and the dog pound established. Dogs at large had to be muzzled between June 15 and September 15.
- City exerted control over running of the Ames & College Railway to recently-annexed West Ames by establishing a 20 mph speed limit for the Dinkey on tracks lying west of the C&NW crossing to complement the existing 8 mph speed limit east of the crossing.
- City saw increased train traffic under Mayor Cramer when C&NW ran a double-track main line through Ames.
