Lincoln Highway: West Street Intersection

This 1913 image looks west toward the corner of Lincoln Way North and West Street.  Collegiate Presbyterian Church would later occupy this corner. Tracks shown in the foreground were extended from the streetcar line to bring building materials to the construction site when State Gym was being built on the Iowa State College campus. (Farwell T. This is a view looking south on Lincoln Way North (renamed Sheldon Avenue in 1929) from the corner of West Street.  Also a construction scene close to State Gym, it is believed this photo was taken in about 1914 or 1915.  (Farwell T. Brown Photographic Archive)

This photo from 1916 looks east from Sheldon at West Gate corner. State Gym is visible on the right.  (Farwell T. Brown Photographic Archive)

In this view, the camera angle is a little more to the south.  (Farwell T. Brown Photographic Archive)
