Gilbert's Garage was located on North Lincoln Way (now Sheldon Avenue). (Private Collection of Paul Walker)
Roy Gilbert first operated a car repair business from his home at 268 North Sheldon in the 1950s. Later, this structure at 274 North Sheldon was built and operated by Roy and Charles I. Gilbert, and later only by Charles Gilbert. The building was razed for new construction in 1997. This site was once where the Cameron brick kiln (just above Briley Pond) was located in the 1890s to the early 1900s.
